This was a job for Frenchay Parish Council. A tree was blown over in strong winds and knocked over a wall in the process. The tree had been removed and we were left with a potentially unstable stump and root plate. Our job was to make the area safe and presentable for the public.
Gratuitous chicken shot!

Chickens just love stump grindings!

Just to add to the excitement, there was a 4 foot drop on the far side. it worked out fine.As you can see, it looked quite nice when we had finished.

We can take single stumps from a lawn.
This was at a friends house in the village. He had taken the tree down himself and taken the stump back as far as he could.   we dealt with the remaining trunk and ground the stump out.

The wood chip, if left in the hole breaks down and can be returfed or reseeded straight onto in a month or two.. or you can put the grindings on your compost pile, add some soil and reseed straight away.

Working at Lygrove Court, a lovely country manor in the Cotswolds, a great place to be grinding stumps. lovely views and a great big Horse Chestnut stump (9 foot across and on a slope) to get our teeth into. Lawrence Tree Services had taken the tree down carefully a day or two before (it actually took 4 days to dismantle). It was up to ROBERTS to finish the job and remove the stump so that they would never know it had been there....apart from the huge pile of firewood for splitting that is!

(The Stump Grindings were stacked and were to be burned by the gardeners, you can just see the the neat pile of grindings in the pic on the right).

The Tree Stump Specialist

ROBERTS

Or take loads out, 17 stumps on this day!
Working with Westerleigh Parish Council at Bitterwell fishing Lake to remove Tree Stumps from the car park area. With the trees already removed, taking the stumps out took away the trip hazards and in a week or two you would never know that the bank had been so overgrown.
Working on the stump Bole with the best 352, one of the stumps yet to be ground is in the foreground. (along with the wing of our best Land Rover)
There had been an Yew stump by the front door of St James church in Westerleigh for years, I'm sure it features in many wedding photo's, With the local wardens having checked for it having any sentimental value, we got to work. Here is the finished job, safe to walk over and ready for turfing..

We also work on building sites, here at Backwell School, working with Hayes Construction. Three large Ash stumps were situated over a high pressure water main, the usual way of pulling them out with a JCB was deemed too dangerous. yet the stumps had to go and the ground level reduced by at least 300mm. They called us up and we worked with them to remove the main boles leaving the end of the roots exposed then the digger pulled the rest of roots out. We stayed on site till the ground was levelled and job done.

With the bole removed, roots exposed, the JCB took away the remaining roots, levelled the ground and the bulkers tipped. Then we started on stump two.....(it's the one with the Orange bucket on it)
